Payments

Updated 20 October 2026

Cash or card on the order, without a commission cut

In short: The £19 plan is for cash and no-card payments, including cash on delivery and cash on collection. The £29 plan adds card payments at checkout through Stripe. Chefzi does not take a percentage of the order on either plan.

Early Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deal: new sign-ups get 3 months free, with no setup fee. The deal ends at 23:59 on 1 December 2026.

Two plans, one checkout

Both plans use the same ordering page. The difference is how the customer pays.

On the £19 plan the customer can pay cash on delivery or cash on collection. You see the order as cash before you cook it. There is no online card form on that plan.

On the £29 plan the customer can pay by card at checkout. The payment goes through Stripe, on the restaurant’s own Stripe account. The restaurant pastes its own Stripe API keys in the portal, and an existing account works, including one already used with GloriaFood. The steps are on move GloriaFood card payments to Stripe. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply. Those fees are Stripe’s, not a Chefzi commission. Chefzi still takes 0% of the order.

Prices are per location and exclude VAT. There is no setup fee and no contract term beyond the month. The first three months are covered by the current offer, which is printed above and on the pricing page.

What the kitchen sees

The ticket shows paid, cash, or failed before the pass starts cooking. Card numbers are not stored on the phone or tablet. The Chefzi app receives the order. It does not act as a card machine, and you do not buy a separate order-taking POS to take the payment.

A PDF receipt is created for the order, and the customer can get an email receipt. Daily totals show orders, revenue and average basket. You can export them. That is bookkeeping, not a promise about how many orders you will take.

What this is not

Chefzi does not add a customer service fee at checkout. Any delivery charge is the one you set on the zone. Marketplace commission on an order that was placed inside Just Eat, Deliveroo or Uber Eats still belongs to that app. Just Eat’s weekly statement is a different timetable from a Stripe payout: when Just Eat pays restaurants. Moving a regular onto your own page is a different job, described in how to move Just Eat customers to your website. The commission calculator compares a rate you type with the monthly fee. It is not a line from your invoice.

Choosing the plan

If you already take cash at the door and you do not want cards on the website yet, the £19 plan matches that. If regulars ask to pay before they arrive, or you would rather not handle cash on delivery, the £29 plan adds the card form. You can talk through which one fits on the call. Switching is a plan change, not a new website. The menu, the domain and the Chefzi app stay as they are.

A failed card should show as failed before the kitchen starts the order. Do not cook a ticket you cannot see as paid or as cash. That status is on the ticket for that reason.

Pricing

£19 a month for cash or no-card payments. £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe. Per location, excluding VAT. No setup fee. 0% commission on the order. See Chefzi pricing.
