How to replace GloriaFood promotions and Autopilot emails before 30 April 2027
By Arslan Munir
This post covers one migration task: your marketing. For the whole move, start with the GloriaFood alternative page, the GloriaFood shutdown guide and the full migration checklist. GloriaFood features below come from its own public pages, checked on 23 October 2026.
What GloriaFood's marketing tools do today
GloriaFood splits marketing into modules. Some are free, some are part of paid add-ons:
| GloriaFood module | What it does |
|---|---|
| Kick-starter | A first-time promotion, a flyer maker, and invitations to regulars to order online |
| Promotions | Promotion templates such as buy one get one free, free delivery, a percentage or fixed discount on the cart, discounts on selected items, combo deals and meal bundles. Offers appear at the top of the menu |
| Advanced Promo Marketing (paid) | Rules for client type and segment, set days and times ("Happy Hour"), highlighted promos, and rewards based on a client's past orders |
| Autopilot (paid) | Three ready-made email campaigns: encourage a second order, re-engage clients, and prevent cart abandonment |
| Reporting | Statistics on how promotions and orders performed |
GloriaFood's own help article on promotion templates lists the rules you can add to an offer: happy hour, delivery area, cart value, payment method, expiration, client type, frequency and exclusivity, plus advanced settings such as limited stock and order or fulfilment time. Its marketing tips page says the re-engage campaign writes to the customers who ordered least recently in the last six months, and that the cart reminder goes out one to two hours after an unfinished order.
That's a lot of switches, and few restaurants use them all. The job now is to find out which ones you rely on.
Step 1: Make a list of what's actually running
Log in to your GloriaFood admin while you still can and open the marketing section. For every promotion, record:
- Name and type: for example, "10% off first order" or "Free delivery over £20".
- The deal: the percentage or amount, the free item, any minimum spend.
- Rules: days and times, delivery areas, collection or delivery only, payment method, new or returning customers, how many uses per customer, and the end date.
- Coupon code, if the offer needs one, and where you've printed or posted that code.
- Status: live, paused or expired.
Take screenshots as well as notes. They're quicker, and they keep the exact wording customers have seen.
Then open Autopilot and note which of the three campaigns are switched on, what discount each one offers and what the email says. Finally, go to the reports. Write down the orders and sales each promotion brought in over the last few months. That number decides what you rebuild.
Step 2: Export your clients, and their consent
Your customer list is the most valuable thing GloriaFood holds for you. Export it alongside your order history while your account is active. Oracle's end-of-life FAQ says you can retrieve your data for 30 days after your services expire, are terminated or are cancelled. Don't plan around that window, though. Do it now.
Exporting a list is not the same as having permission to email it. Under PECR, the ICO says you need specific consent to send marketing emails. There's a limited exception, the "soft opt-in", for your own previous customers: people who bought from you, gave you their details and were offered a clear chance to opt out then, and in every message since. It covers similar products and services only. It doesn't cover bought-in lists.
So when you export, keep whatever records show who opted in and who opted out. If you can't tell, treat the customer as not opted in. A small, clean list beats a big one that earns complaints.
Step 3: Decide what to keep
Sort your promotions into three groups:
- Keep: offers that brought in orders you were happy to cook at that price. A first-order discount and free delivery over a sensible minimum usually land here.
- Change: offers that worked but cost too much. A 20% discount that needed every order to break even might become a free side instead.
- Drop: offers nobody used, anything aimed at a time slot you no longer open, and anything you set up years ago and forgot.
Check one more thing before you keep a direct-only offer. If you're also on Just Eat, its Your Price Promise covers prices, discounts, offers, delivery charges and minimums on your own site, unless you've agreed otherwise. Deliveroo and Uber Eats contracts can have their own rules. Read your terms first.
Step 4: Rebuild in Chefzi
Here's how each GloriaFood piece maps across, including the gaps.
| GloriaFood | Chefzi | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First-time promo (Kick-starter) | A promo code limited to a first order | Same idea. Put the code on your own flyers and counter |
| Promotion templates: % or fixed off, free delivery, free item, buy one get one | Promo codes in the same five types | Combo deals and meal bundles can be built as menu items at a set price |
| Coupon codes | Promo codes you switch on and off in the dashboard | Keep the same code wording if regulars already know it |
| Happy hour, delivery-area, payment-method and frequency rules | Not listed as code rules | For delivery areas, set the delivery fee and minimum per area in delivery zones instead |
| Autopilot "encourage second order" | Automated welcome email after a first order, with a thank-you code if you like | Goes only to customers who agreed to hear from you |
| Autopilot "re-engage clients" | Automated "we miss you" email after a number of weeks you choose | You set the gap |
| Autopilot "cart abandonment" | Not offered | Make checkout quick instead: a short menu, clear options, a visible minimum |
| Birthday offers | Automated birthday email, if you collect birthdays with consent | Skip it if you don't ask for dates |
| Flyer maker | Flyer design and a QR code to your ordering page, as part of texts and flyers | The QR code should open your ordering page, not a GloriaFood link |
| Promotion reports | How many orders used each code | Check it weekly and drop codes nobody uses |
Chefzi is not a loyalty scheme or a CRM. It gives you codes, a link and emails to people who opted in. If time-of-day offers or points-based rewards are central to your trade, check those specific needs on a call before switching. The Chefzi vs GloriaFood page and what Chefzi does not do list the other differences.
Step 5: Write the three emails before you switch automation on
Don't copy your GloriaFood Autopilot text word for word. It probably mentions the old site. Write three short emails:
- Welcome: thanks for the first order, how to order next time, one button to your ordering page.
- We miss you: one offer, one button, an unsubscribe link. Pick a gap that suits how often your regulars actually order. A weekly pizza customer and a monthly curry customer aren't the same.
- Birthday: only if you asked for the date and the customer agreed.
Then send one plain campaign to your opted-in list on the day you switch. Tell them where to order now, with the new link and, if you're keeping it, the same first-order or free-delivery code. The detail on sending is on the email campaigns page, and a wider plan is in restaurant marketing ideas.
Step 6: Change every place an old code or link appears
Codes outlive the systems they were made in. Go through:
- printed flyers, menus and stickers with a GloriaFood link or QR code;
- your Facebook and website buttons (replace the GloriaFood buttons walks through this);
- your Google Business Profile ordering link;
- pinned social posts that mention a code;
- bags and inserts you hand out with phone and walk-in orders.
Never put a direct-order code on a marketplace bag. If you want to win those customers over the right way, see how to move Just Eat customers to your website.
A sensible order of work
| When | Task |
|---|---|
| Now | Screenshot every promotion and Autopilot campaign. Export clients and orders |
| Next fortnight | Decide keep, change or drop. Check marketplace terms |
| Before go-live | Set up the Chefzi menu (move your menu without retyping it), codes and automated emails |
| Go-live day | Swap links and buttons. Email your opted-in list |
| Next four weeks | Watch code usage. Remove offers nobody uses |
| Before your GloriaFood renewal ends | Cancel the paid add-ons. Keep exports somewhere safe |
Switch your marketing with your ordering

Frequently asked questions
Will my GloriaFood promotions keep working until April 2027?
Oracle's end-of-life FAQ says all GloriaFood products and services end on 30 April 2027, and paid services end on your renewal expiry date between 1 and 30 April 2027 if that comes first. When ordering stops, the promotions and Autopilot emails attached to it stop too.
Can I move my GloriaFood promotions automatically?
We didn't find a GloriaFood tool that exports promotions in a form another platform can import. Write down or screenshot each promotion's type, discount, rules and coupon code, then rebuild the ones you still want. You may only need a few.
Does Chefzi have something like GloriaFood Autopilot?
Chefzi has automated emails you set up once: a welcome email after a first order, a 'we miss you' email after a number of weeks you choose, and a birthday email if you collected birthdays with consent. We don't list an abandoned-cart reminder, which GloriaFood's Autopilot includes.
Can I take my GloriaFood customer list with me for marketing?
You can export your client list while you still have access, and Oracle says data can be retrieved for 30 days after services end. Only email people who agreed to marketing or who fall under the ICO's soft opt-in for your own previous customers, and give an opt-out in every message.
What does Chefzi cost after GloriaFood?
After the free period, Chefzi is £19 a month per location for cash or no-card ordering, or £29 a month with online card payments through your own Stripe account, excluding VAT. Promo codes and email campaigns are included. There's no setup fee and no commission.
